Standardized testing has gone on for a long time and have given educators good information about student performances. With the detailed, and mostly accurate, test results that are now available, educators can see what a student’s strengths and weaknesses. Test results affect many aspects in school, which would be expected, but teachers and whole school systems can be judged on test scores. Teachers can be fired, hired, or punished from student test scores, which is acceptable to a point. (Is the use of Standardized Tests Improving Education in America, 4). Since the test has so many harsh affects, teachers can tend to focus on the testing skills and lessons can become repetitive and monotonous to students.
