About a couple of months ago my supervisor hired a counselor assistant that is culturally and socio economic status is different from the other members working in the Transfer Center. Everyone did not seem to accept this individual as part of our team until I talked to everyone and I explained to them that there had been a reason why our supervisor hired her. I spoke to my supervisor and she mentioned that this individual will provide a different atmosphere to the center. I tried to speak to our new member and find out how she was raised and how her personal values led her to the counseling field. After a couple of conversations, I found out that she has talents that can be useful in our center. I later spoke to my other team members and I helped them understand how important her experiences were for the growth of the center. I built a bridge between our new counselor assistant with the rest of the group members in the
