A president is in the position of being chief executive of the United States. He/She is the leader of the country and he/she reflects what the U.S. citizens are as a whole. Since the president is the icon of the country he/she should be great at it and should have a few really good characteristics about them. For example, communication skills, leadership skills, diplomatic skills, decisiveness, and last but not least is moral integrity. Those are the few characteristics that I think would make the U.S. president successful. Communication skills is a major way of getting words to people in a confident way. The only way to do that is to work together with no problems within the country. If the country has great leadership and good teamwork techniques nothing or no one can stop it from progressing.
Additionally, diplomatic skills is a very meaningful characteristic. Diplomatic skills show how well you can communicate and deal with country to country problems. If the U.S. can deal with worldwide problems, there would not be any. Also, the U.S. can make treaties with other countries as long as they dont have difficulties between each other. For example, the U.S. and Korea are like rivals and have not signed a treaty yet, but they can sign it whenever any country wants to. Decisiveness, means to be able to be unafraid of making decisions for the good of the country. If the president is not decisive the country would be the same for a couple of years and no improvements would be made. The reason decisiveness is a needed characteristic is because you have to be decisive to be in charge or be a good leader. If you’re not decisive it will take you years to decide on one certain
