Some parents can be extremely overprotective of their children and some can be very chill and let their children do whatever they want whenever they want, just to make sure they are having a good time all the time. In the article, “Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been”, Connie was the youngest child and had no privileges, but on the other hand, her sister, June, got to do whatever she wanted whenever she wanted, no matter the time or day. Some children can be spoiled, some can be worked on and sometimes there is an in-between. From there, they decided that they were going to go back to the plaza with some boys and get to know them a little bit better. There are two things wrong with this part of the story: one they snuck off to the drive-thru and two they went and hung out with boys they didn’t know when they were specifically told that they needed to stay there and not talk to anyone else and yet they went and did it anyways. I understand that when this story was written a long time ago and times have changed a lot since then, but you still wouldn’t think that someone should just straight up run into the driveway in a car that you have never seen before, but that is exactly what Connie did. One Sunday afternoon, Connie’s parents went on a barbecue and asked Connie to go with her, but she said no and that she wanted to stay home.
