An educator’s mathematical knowledge can affect the development of children’s mathematical understandings in a positive or negative manner. Deficiency of clarity about the nature and make-up of the affecting mathematics, and demonstrate across four strands number and algebra, measurement and geometry, and statistics and probability conceptual background and framework of effect concerning mathematics education (ACARA, 2017b). This is a contested space, and demonstrate strengths and weakness outline an understanding of mathematical effect as including beliefs, values, attitudes, and emotions, and this will underpin the practical and theoretical work of educator in the classroom (ACARA, 2017b).

Therefore, Vygotsky theorist of children development explained a Zone of Proximal Development [ZPD] as the sweet spot between the level of growth of a student calculating on problems and the level of ability of development supported with an educator. In other words, the zone acknowledges the educator to be more knowledgeable, giving the opportunity to maximise the theory, for the student they are more capable of adopting classroom education (Duchesne & McMaugh, 2013, p. 113). In the same way, Constructivism has become part of mathematical learning (Cottrill, 2009, para.), determine by previous knowledge and extending their education been active contributors. Bruner theory emphasises students associate through important teaching so they can make sense, recall, and harness how and what they have learnt (Kearns, 2017, p. 49).
In truth that my knowledge of mathematical concepts and understandings to Australian Curriculum: Mathematics (The Australian Curriculum Assessment Authority [ACARA], 2017a, version 8.3) afterwards finishing EYMCT, showed many weaknesses and areas for development. Within ACARA’s Numeracy and Algebra (ACARA, 2017c) was a problem I have observed when using analysing tool for EYMCT number and algebra strand I found I have strengths and weaknesses, furthermore the need to work on to become
