Even though no one has a right to end a life, why take it out on an innocent baby. If you become pregnant then you should give birth, or should you? Roe verses Wade was a Landmark decision for Woman. The right to an abortion is without a doubt a decision that should be made by the women. The moment of conception is indeed life. Abortion is something I do not believe in for myself although, it is important that every woman have the right to choose whether to sustain life or terminate life. Because we have rights as people and should be able to choose what rights we can use. Why a stranger should be allowed to make decisions that directly affect our bodies is unfair. (Friedan,1976). Women are free to rule over their bodies, and women have the freedom to decide what they will do with their bodies, and they have a right to freedom of privacy under the fourteenth amendment.
Supreme Court Decision First, Roe verses Wade was a Landmark decision for Woman. The right to an abortion is without a doubt a decision that should be made by the women. Abortion isn’t always an easy solution for women to make, understandably. However, should she decide or feel the need for such a choice, there ought to be somewhere licensed that she can go to that has the medical knowledge she seeks. One should never feel that the only option is a butcher in an alley. The moment of conception is indeed life. Abortion is not something I would choose for myself although, its important every female make that choice on her own whether to sustain life or terminate life. Because we have rights as people and should be able to choose what rights we can use. Why should a stranger be allowed to make decisions that directly affect our bodies (Friedan, 1976)? Additionally, Women are free to rule over their bodies. I find it interesting that those who are not even pregnant are insisting they have the right to have a say in another individual’s life (Benedict, 2006). Maybe it’s due to the fact that it goes against ones religion. Maybe they feel a sense of responsibility to the unborn. For whatever reasons, people must step back and look at the big picture. We are free individuals who deserve a say over our bodies, ultimately it’s our own decision. Roe verses Wade is based on people’s rights, just because the constitution doesn’t list those rights doesn’t mean they don’t exits. Over non enumerated rights 1791, the ninth amendment was placed to state that this case was handled in a due process manner (McCorvey, 1994). Finally, In a seven to two vote, the decision was made insisting Texas law violated the due process clause of the 14th Amendment. One of the Justices insisted a woman's choice to terminate her pregnancy is protected by a broad right of privacy, which was found in the “First, Fourth, Fifth, Ninth and 14th Amendments, as well as the penumbras, or shadows, of the Bill of Rights” (Roe vs Wade). Roe verses Wade was a Landmark decision for Woman. The right to an abortion is without a doubt a decision that should be made by the women. The moment of conception is indeed life. I do not believe in abortion for myself however, I believe every woman should have the right to choose whether to sustain life or terminate life. Women have the freedom to decide what they will do with their bodies, and they have a right to freedom of privacy under the fourteenth amendment. As you know, this had much debate even after its ruling. Mostly it was the Catholic religious sector, as they believed ending a life was murder. However many Protestants agrees it would cut down on a number of unwanted children and abuse. (“Roe v. Wade”). But, not all but religious were upset, “Republicans did not agree to the decision either.. On the other hand the democrats supported it” (“Roe v. Wade”) “In 1940 till 1972, 2,532 women died
