In Syria an expansive amount of people that have been forcefully displaced from their homes, causing a refugee crisis of Syrian people. These people have to leave their homes in order to escape the Syrian Civil War, and this civil war quickly lead to an extreme refugee crisis. The divides within the Muslim community, the Western stereotypes surrounding Muslims, and self-serving involvement by outside countries were the leading factors in transforming the Syrian Civil War into a dehumanizing refugee crisis.

Factors that lead to a longer and more violent civil war are the reason why so many Syrian people were displaced. Also, the more refugees that there are, more problems occur in finding places for these refugees to go, especially when there are negative stigmas surrounding these people. By the war being prolonged and bloodier more the situation is Syria became more serious and grave for the people inside the country. This means the more people were forced to flee their homes in Syria or else they risked death. The exit of people was so massive that there was no where for all of these refugees to go. This is what contributed to the refugees situation becoming a refugee crisis. If the war just misplaced a few people, because it was shorter and not as violent, then there would have been less refugees and they would have been able to have a place to go, which, would get rid of the crisis part of having
