Teen Activists are needed in every community. They are teens and children who work together to fix problems in the community. One thing that many activists focus on is animal rescue.
Faye Carey is one of those activists. She is a 19 year old girl who lives in Waikato, New Zealand. Faye started to volunteer at her local shelter when she was 16. Since then she has managed to rehome more than 60 puppys and 20 kittens. Lou Wegner is a 22 year old actor and singer. He is also the founder of KAAC, when he was just a mere fourteen he founded the organization. Anya Agarwal is the founder of SPOT Globally. She also has an adoption group called Anya’s Animal Angels.

These animals are usually bone thin, very sickly, and aggressive towards the humans that try to help or rescue them.
The USA is the land of the free, for everyone expect animals. One study found that in Houston, Texas there are more than 1.2 million stray dogs, and in Utah the percentage of household cats is less than 24.6%. A variety of studies show that Kentucky is actually the worst state for a dog to live in.
A “Pet” is an animal that lives in the safety and security of a human’s home. Some pets live luxurious lives with dog homes custom made for them. These homes usually have automatic food and water bowls, air conditioning, and sometimes they have pools and hot tubs. The most expensive dog home was made by Andy Ramus for $417,000.
Everyday thousands of animals are adopted, at least 8,767 animals are adopted each day. That's almost 3.2 million animals per year! There are millions of adoption groups, many are started by teen activists.
In Seattle there is a group made up of teens, age 13 to 17, whose main focus is on helping animals get adopted. This group is called the Humane Teen Club or
