About 2.7 million pets are abused yearly. Barely anyone is doing anything about it. Some adult organizations are trying to help but aren’t getting the word out. Now there is a new generation, a generation of teens. Teen activist have been popping up everywhere. My favorite teen activists are the ones that help with animal cruelty. Like Faye Carey who spends most of her time in animal shelters helping dogs find new homes.

I. Faye Carey While most teenage girls are busy on social media or with their friends, when Faye Carey was sixteen years old she uses her social media experience to set up a dog rescue page on Facebook. Her page is called Animal Re-Home Waikato, she uses this page to help abandoned dogs to find new home. The idea for a Facebook page came to her when she was trying to re-home a litter of kittens. Lou Wegner

Lou Wegner Was born in Columbus Ohio on August 12th 1997 he used to be just an actor but then he became an animal cruelty teen activist. When he was just 14 he realized that in animal shelters most animals do not get a home to live in. he realized this when he went to zoo camp. From there he made a non-profit organization called kids Against Animal Cruelty. In under 1 year he had many helpers and followers across America. There are not only helpers in America, there are also activists in Belgium, Brazil, Greece, and Nepal. Wegner is also a National Youth Ambassador for the American Humane Society.

Wegner is now 18 years old and is a youth spokesperson for the ASPCA and Subaru of America. Although in 2010 when he was 14 he learned millions of dogs if not adopted would be put to sleep. Now he is one of the teens who work 2 fight against puppy mills Ben shelter gas Chambers, save wild Mustangs and preserve America's Western frontier.
