There are many ways information is controlled in our society. One of the many ways that information is controlled in our society is by banning books. A lot of books are banned because of different topics that are discussed. Some of these topics may be labeled as disturbing or not age appropriate. People advocate for these books to be banned. People argue that cancelling culture encourages shame. Rather than holding a person accountable, it publicly shames them. More disadvantages include cyber bullying, promoting hypocrisy. Cancel culture has a lot to do with control of information. Celebrities and companies are too afraid to speak up about certain topics because of fear of being canceled. This controls the information.
