John proctor sure was a tough selfish man compared to Rebecca. thats why his flaws Also lead him into bad directions. Proctor has many flaws which eventually led him to his downfall. The biggest impact that affected him with his wife was his affair with Abigail Williams. Which was one of the women that was possessed. He originally does not expose Abigail in fear of being exposed himself. When he does eventually tell the court of Abigail's intentions it is too late. Many people have already been killed and the court has convicted too many people to turn back. Proctor also had a very strong temper that was unmanageable . When things don't go his way and friendly discussion does not work, Proctor will get angry. The injustice within the town is Proctor's main source of anger and throughout the play he threatens to "whip the devil out of" Elizabeth, Mary Warren, and Abigail. Rebecca Nurse, on the other hand was the most innocent women there could appear she was flawless. She seems to have made no mistakes in her passed life. her life continues to never lie until she no longer breathes or lives another day of her life When put in the situation to confess she never once thinks twice and consistently tells the truth. After her still not knowing about her husbands affair. Even after all off the hysteria, Rebecca Nurse doesn't seem to have some kind of attitude or get angry of some kind. Nurse just remains nice and honest.
