Here in America most people tend to find themselves very busy and with many tasks to do. It’s the American culture, fast paced and little time to get things done. While trying to work we also try to enjoy time simultaneously. Being a current college student I see myself multitasking most of the time. I am one of millions who multitask. When I do homework I have to have my earphone plugged-in in order for me to concentrate and stay focused on my assignments. According to a study mentioned in the journal article, “The effect of Multitasking to Faculty Members’ Academic Works” it states that 78.7% of the participants believed in that multitasking while using the Internet has a detrimental effect on their academic works. This study was done to demonstrate whether or not faculty members believed in that multitasking was causing a delay in their academics. However, in the same article they found that 55.1% of the participants believed listening to music didn’t delay their academic works. So it’s almost a 50-50 that I can be right that music helps me concentrate while doing homework. Does it depend on the person? When we think about multitasking the first thing that comes into mind is that someone is performing different tasks simultaneously. We can assume they are important tasks. Right? I

We force our brain to take all these things at once which cause the neurons to get fatigue and that’s when we don’t pick up nothing that we are learning or researching.
