There are many diseases today that yet to have a cure. People that are in an end stage of a terminal illness have to go through the pain and suffering the illness comes with every day. When a disease such as cancer is in its final stage people get tired of the unbearable pain and wish to end it with euthanasia. The article, “Why do we want the right to die?” explains that, “Severe pain was seen to have an enormously detrimental effect on quality of life, and some who were terminally ill thought it inevitable and uncontrollable” (Hendry et al. 19).
