The Importance Of Joining The Military

It was a cool December afternoon and as I sit under the tent watching them fold the flag and hand it to my Uncle Troy. On the outside, I was crying, but on the inside I was thanking my grandpa for his service in the Air Force, and as I watch them do the 21 Gun Salute to salute to my grandpa’s service while in the military. I will always be grateful for all the hard work and dedication my grandpa put towards fighting. After graduating in 1954, and knowing that he went into the Air Force right after high school makes me one proud granddaughter. Someday I hope that all the work that past servicemen/women did will have an impact on the future men and women who join the military.

The military has everyday great people who go out and fight for us to go out and have the Constitutional Rights that they have to give up. People that are willing to go out and fight are people that everyone should look up to because they are some of the bravest people you’ll ever know. I really hope that the people who are currently fighting now will have an impact on the people who want to join and show them how much they actually sacrifice to keep Americans independent. Americans should always be thankful for the airmen/women, marines, soldiers and the sailors who do everything they can to keep up free. “Other nations don’t have all the freedom” and democracy that Americans have because they don’t have men and women who are willing to fight like Americans do (Andrew Crilly). Americans should be proud of the men and women fighting in the military because people in other countries don’t have the freedom that the United States has.
