My Responsibility to America

Imagine everyday you have to be guided by someone to go to places like the mall or the grocery store, because it is law that you can not drive or go outside of your house alone. That is life for women in Saudi Arabia. Unlike Saudi Arabia, America is a place of freedom and choice. People in America do not have to worry about those type of problems because soldiers have fought for the flag and this land to be free. Our responsibility as Americans is to honor the flag and to respect the soldiers who fought for it.

Each American has responsibilities, one of those responsibilities is to honor the flag. Every time you say the Pledge of Allegiance you are honoring the flag. When you look at the flag you are looking at the symbol thousands of people have died for to protect. The flag stands for something most countries do not have-freedom. Many Americans do not understand how important the flag is and they take it for granted. You have the freedom to say what is on your mind and not have to worry about the consequences. Nothing as important as the flag comes without a price. Every American should honor the flag and who fought for it to be there.

Soldiers risk their lives everyday to protect people they do not know. Soldiers have gone to battle and have died to protect the land that you stand on. Because of them you have the freedom to do what you want without worry. You can choose who and what you want to be because of the people who have fought for this country and what this country stands for. Soldiers put their lives on the line risking the possibility of never seeing their families again to protect this country and the people who live in it.
