It partially depicts how fast someone can change as a person. Dexter had really come along way since the divorce. I also think the play teaches a underlying lesson in forgiveness. Even though Tracy divorced Dexter after he struck her one night when he was drunk, she still went back to him. I think she forgave him after she found out he was trying to protect her from the people working for the magazine wanting to write incriminating stories about her father. Deep down Tracy still loved him and like the way he made her feel. Even though Mike was a good person, he is also a person that is easily walked over and does not really have much of a fight in him. His flirtation with Liz also turned Tracy off from him since he was just chasing for something and not her only. I also think George treated her nicely, but he came from money and was very stiff and had a stuck up/arrogant side. He did not have a sense of fun or passion. He was so cut and dry that it made sense that Tracy would go back to Dexter, someone who she had married impulsively in the name of passion. I wished the ending was a little bit longer but since it ended abruptly in the playtext that I can understand why the directors did it the way they did. Overall It was a great play and I wish I could see it
