The British responded to the colonists, continuing to disobey laws by passing numerous acts to tax the colonists in every way possible. In addition to these acts, Britain imposed the Declaratory Act which asserted Britain's ultimate right of control over the colonies. After the Boston Massacre, the colonists were infuriated.
