She mentioned that a lot of her children were not on the 3rd grade level and that I should assess them using the second grade level. That being said, the first student that I assessed was a girl who was nine years old she read at a second grade level. She was very good when she was reading and took her time one of the things that I was unsure about with her was if I should take her corrected word or not. For example she Brooke as broke and then went back and corrected herself and said the correct word. I decided since she knew she read it wrong and she corrected it not to mark it off. She did that with two of the words in her story. She had a great score and if I did not include the words that she corrected as wrong she got them all right. My host teacher mentioned to me that she didn't think it would be appropriate to share whether children are special needs children or not. So, none of the children are labeled as special needs. At the bottom of the comprehension questionnaire I was not sure how to do the one, two, three, four. I was not sure exactly what I should do for these.
