In 1878, people began research on how to create a practical incandescent lamp. After weeks and months, of trial and error, Thomas Edison created the first light bulb in 1879. Before Edison, people like Michael Faraday and Joseph Henry were the first attempters along with many others, to create the first lightbulb. Thomas Edison’s company, Edison electric Light Company began to market their products in 1800’s. His light bulbs back then were nothing like the ones that we have now.
