The main character, Thomas, is similar to me in five different ways. First of all, he is someone who doesn’t trust everyone and is very cautious. This is similar to me because I am the same way. I don’t go along with what everyone tells me to do or in general tells me, because I am very cautious and am aware of when people are trying to fool me. For example in the book when Teresa was acting all sweet towards Thomas and was telling him to trust her, he became suspicious of her actions and knew something is up. Another way Thomas is like me is because we both go with our instincts. For example in the book Thomas has many situations that he had to decide on how to get out of them, and he always went with what he feels was right in his gut. I do the same thing, even on tests when I’m stuck between two answers that both seem correct, I usually go with the one my gut tells me to go with, and what makes me feel is really the right answer choice. …show more content…
I relate to this because whenever someone has hurt my feelings or has done something I didn’t like, I blamed it on myself and would see that person as being innocent, although they really weren’t. The fourth way we are both alike is that we both continue fighting and never give up. Thomas never gives up even though he has faced many tough situations in the Scorch Trials and has had to fight many zombie-like monsters, but hasn’t gave up physically or mentally and continues to fight. I do the same. For example when I practice dance and learn new choreography it may be tough sometimes, but I continue to practice, practice, practice, and never give up.
