“Each of us should think of the future. Every puff on a cigarette is another tick closer to a time bomb of terrible consequences,” Ray Comfort one stated. What would a smoke free world look like? With a smoke free world lives would be healthier. Cancer would be less threatening. Benefits a country’s wealth would be attained. If every one was a nonsmoker, 2.8 million premature deaths would be avoided, health care would decrease by $211 billion, and states would have a decrease of Medicaid costs (Business Insider). Billions of lives would be saved across the world if there was a smoke free environment. The reality of this world is that bad habits are severely tough to get rid of. The first step into destroying tobacco products is to take it out of store inventories. David Casey voices, “You’re selling a product that is going to get rid of half of your consumer base.” Removing cigarettes from treatment facilities is also a big step needed to end smoking. Mental health treatment centers serve populations at high risk for tobacco use (Truth Initiative). People with health disorders consume up to 46 percent of cigarettes in America (Truth Initiative). Television networks need to stop promoting tobacco use by having actors and actresses partake in the substance. It can decrease the influence of tobacco use for teens and young adults. According to the Huffpost, smoking-related health conditions are a leading cause to death in America. The Huffpost also stated that 50,000 deaths in America have been accounted for by secondhand smoking. Tobacco use emits over a billion kilograms of greenhouse gases yearly (Huffpost). Tobacco industries are destroying consumers and the environment for the greed of money. Tobacco industries does not care about its consumers, so why should a consumer support its business by purchasing its
