What is the Treaty of Versailles?
The first World War had ended on the 11th of November, 1918, as Germany surrendered in a formal manner, as all the other nations had followed on, agreeing to stop all fights. Soon after, on the 28th of June, 1919, something called the ‘Treaty of Versailles’ was announced as the peace settlement that was signed in order to officially end World War I. The best possible way to sign things off as an ending was for all countries to agree that there will be peace between all. Exactly 5 years after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, both Central Powers and the Allied Powers (including France, Britain, Russia) had ended it off. When the signings of the peace settlement were official, that’s when things started to change for certain countries, especially Germany. It had caused problems in the future because it was a very harsh manner to treat Germany in this nonsense. The Allied Powers wanted to punish them as much as they could for starting the World War, but did not see the consequences it brought on. Things such as: limitations on Germany’s armed forces, reparations (Germany the offender making financial payments for their wrongness), War Guilt Clause (punishing them as much as possible, for their damages of starting the war), League of Nations (not allowing Germany to join the European union until they had were respectful). Adolf Hitler’s rise to power started in 1919 in Germany when he joined the political party. After a series of parliamentary elections won, his rise ended at 1933, but another rise began with the army of the Nazi’s. With his ruthlessness and authority of control, and began to control the Leagues of Nations as they weren’t able to stop him. Hitler’s power dictated the political party by following his actions, with barely any negotiations, and wanted to take over Germany’s territorial borders again.
