The focus of the work concentrates around the actions and feelings of people. the fourth episode, Oedipus learns from the shepherd that he is the son of Lai and Jocasta. The mother herself gave her child to the servant, so that he carried it to the rock. Jocasta committed a terrible sin - she took her own child to death. So Oedipus is thus the son of criminals: the monster of the father, who for the sins of the gods was cursed to be killed by a son, and to the mother who personally gave her son to an evil death. The terrible prophecy of Apollo was realized - Oedipus killed his father and married his
