Unhealthy agreements can be time consuming, distracting, and expensive. When organization is interrupted by inadequate communication, dishonesty and inability to confront conflicting issues, leader set in motion decisions that define failure for team members to achieve effective goals and objective. The assignment requires that students discuss unhealthy agreement and the potential results if this conflict is not addressed; effectively.
The team leader introduced a project to the team members, and initially the team members were putting forth effort to achieve the goals of the project. The unhealthy agreement was create by the leader with a commanding/coercive leadership style. The team members became disconnected. But, the leader demand that team members work on a particular project that they considered to be a waste of time and money for the organization. The leader requirement for the project was unrealistic and expensive. However, no one stated their opinion to the leadership. When it was time for the team members to report their updates as it related to the project one or two members were always absent from work.

By refusing to voice their concerns, teams spend time and energy focusing on areas which are distant from their preferred goals. The team members also experienced Groupthink.
