Unit 4: Risk Assessment Scope
Insperion is a company that specializes in computer software development. The company has had issues previously with security and physical problems with the software that is being produced. The fledgling company is also now dealing with shareholders who are concerned that the company will begin to lose business and ultimately disband. A risk management process and scope has to be implemented to calm the fears of the management of the company and also to revive the branding of their software to a global clientele. Initially, the company will need to identify as many of the issues surrounding the company as possible. They must decide how the threats to the security of the company are manifested and then identify how to eliminate those threats. One area that has to be greatly assessed is the software design group and their methods of production. Additionally, the group has to determine if there are any features of the software that are in need of improvement to prevent hacking, or other forms of sabotage. The company will have to also look into identification of weaknesses within the framework of the company from the perspective of security. Determinations will be made with regard to physical security of the premises, intrusion detection, and any other forms of outward penetration that results in breaches in the company’s mission of groundbreaking software technology
