The scene of vaping has a varied view from person to person. There are some who see it as a way to help those who want to quit smoking, then there are those who see it as a device to influence the younger crowd to smoke. With my previous experience, I believe that it can truly be a device of good intention but has been perceived as a danger or as a thing to promote smoking. I started smoking cigarettes when I was 16 years old, I was working as a midnight shift CNC machine operator with my current company. While working those shifts it became a habit as a means to pass the time, I later became addicted to smoking. They see vaping not as a way to become healthy but rather as a way to get nicotine, or be in with the crowd of popular people in order to gain a higher standing socially by posting images of them “blowing clouds” on social media praising that they are a “vape god” and everyone should strive to be like them. Most of the vaping community although does not agree with this idea to promote vaping as an entry towards nicotine but rather as a way to get relief from it. Although this comes along with a large majority of groups, whether it be smokers, drinkers, partiers, or social shut-ins. Each of these groups has a community within itself that the whole community sees as an outcast or a degeneration of the ideals of their community. “When there is this type of social standing there will always be room for improvement, like for people who drink alcohol and enjoy it show that there can be praise used within it and try to diminish those who use it to constantly get intoxicated, both they and the vaping community share a goal to expose the root of why they do”(ECF).
