According to Human Trafficking “12.3 million people are enslaved by debt”. Some of these kidnappers will fake a friendship with whom they want to take. They will get the victim comfortable and snatch them at any available time. They will also fake ads in newspapers, fake employment, or even fake a dating account online. These sellers take advantage of any opportunity they can. When the victim is officially in possession of their seller, they tend to drug these individuals. “They often are drugged and forced into sexual encounters with strangers while their captors collect the money”(Human Trafficking). They force so much drugs that the victim can no longer function correctly. They soon tend to lose memory. They usually inject victims with these drugs, it is also common for someone to die from an overdose. These “pimps” can sell these victims into anything they please. The most common is women being sold into sexual exploits. Women may also be sold for organ traders. This is very uncommon for trafficking, but very few have still experienced such a brutal feeling. Men are also forced into trafficking for hard labor work, also young boys because they can train them younger and they will not be able to defend themselves because they have not reached that ability yet. These victims no longer have rights because they are constantly being controlled by these trafficking employers. Men have also been seen in sex trades as well. The main two trafficking is sex and labor. Marinella is a human trafficking survivor, she was tricked by her brothers friend and traded for sex. Marinella was frightened for her life, she had no idea what was happening. Marinella had said we were going to be sold and become prostitutes, I couldn't believe my ears. I tried to kill myself (Eastern European Sex Slavery is a Serious Problem). Being in these situations is terror and horror. These situations were in horrible conditions, these girls “were beaten and starved” (Eastern European Sex Slavery is a Serious
