At the beginning the has given people the courage to come in the woods with her. She had courage when the devil was telling her that he would take her home to Barbados, but she also had courage that if she didn't kill her her owner then everything would be fine in Salem. Elizabeth also has a lot of courage with john, she had a lot of belief that he would not go back and get “freaky” with Abigail. She had a lot of confidence too that Abigail would not be successful with the murder of herself. I think she felt like she would be fine as long as she was not accused, john was not frolicking with Abigail, and Abigail stayed to herself.
I think that there was a lot of lack in the book. The only time people were telling the truth about something it was really a lie just to keep themselves safe. Tituba for a great example, Abigail had accused her of doing witchcraft and making her drink blood and making them dance and get naked and a lot of things. Tituba had not made most of these things happen but she confessed because she did not wanna get to death, she wasn't beat to death but she was put in jail. John had told some truth when he said that the girls were innocent and when he had an affair with Abigail.
