Clearing Misconceptions: Women lifting weights ≠ A bulky frame
A lot of women are afraid of lifting weights as they think it’ll make them bulky and by that they mean gaining a significant amount of muscle mass.
To which there are common arguments stating that ‘women don’t have similar hormone profiles as men’ and as a result cannot gain that amount of lean mass that it’d make them look bulky.
Apart from this, here are 5 more reasons that state how lifting weights will not make you bulky or manly.
1. You burn a lot of calories.

Resistance training can be used by women to reach all kind of fitness goals be it to remain fit and healthy or be it training for power lifting and bodybuilding competitions, whatever suits ones needs. It all depends on how you train towards achieving your desired goals.
4. Your diet has to bulk up, to bulk up your body.
One doesn’t lose weight just from training, we all know that a clean and healthy diet is still required. Wouldn’t that go for getting bigger too then? To gain muscle mass one needs to combine heavy weight training and an excess of calories.
5. You will not develop insta-muscle.
Doing a few bicep curls and eating greens will not make you look like Popeye. It takes months to see average fitness progress. So, to get bulky or having a body builder level muscularity, one wouldn’t just have to lift weights and diet in an extreme fashion, but one would have to keep going for years. Those are athletes who work extremely hard to look that way.
So, that being said, to derive benefits out of strength training, it does take a lot of hard work and dedication even though your goal is just to stay fit. Consistency is the only way you can make lifelong changes to your body and achieve the body you
