WHAT AND WHERE?

Wellbeing is a person’s social, mental and emotion health factors. It is a combination of these three areas, not just one. It is how one feels about their self and their life. The countries Chad (FIGURE 1) and Canada (FIGURE 2) have been chosen and their wellbeing statuses both vary from each other. Chad is a land-locked country in Africa and is neighbored by Central African Republic, Cameroon, Libya, Niger, and Sudan (FIGURE 3). Canada is located in North America and is neighbored by the United States of America. Currently chads average life expectancy is 50.8 years and their GDP per capita is $973. This compared to Canada’s average life expectancy of 81.7 years and GDP per capita of $53,000, is very low, therefor giving the view that Chad is a less developed country at first

This includes inequality, low standards of living and a lack of health services. There is a large gap created by the government in Chad, leaving those who are a part of the governing system very wealthy and powerful, while the majority of citizens are left with the bare minimum. The standard of living is very low and the majority of the population live in small huts (FIGURE 4). Along with this, access to health services is very low and is one of the many reasons why Chad is a less developed country. The reality in Chad today is that a large percentage of the population is undernourished, lack education and the country has a high infant mortality. The geographical location does not help either as a vast amount of Chad is a desert. All these factors add up to the reason why Chad is so poorly developed today. This is very different from Canada, where there is a strong, fair governing systems, a lot of mean to make money, and the geographical location which is not as harsh as that of Chad. Therefor the wellbeing in Canada is very high and the country is a well-developed
