West Nile Virus attacking the World

Biodiversity is very crucial for the productivity of ecosystems. Every organism plays an essential role in creating sustainability. Biodiversity creates a natural balance, and ecosystems with a diversity of organisms are more resilient and adaptable to change, threats, external stress, etc.
The continuous warm and humid temperature, along with high amounts of rainfall will lead to an outbreak of the West Nile Virus, in Ontario. Public Health Ontario has reported that cross 24 different health units, 172 mosquito pools have tested positive for West Nile Virus. Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health says, “the “abundance of rain” this summer means there are lots of spots for the insects to breed and the

Personally, I feel that Canada will be in devastation as climate change occurs. Though, there are many other aspects to think about, viruses are still a major threat. In my opinion, if we keep encouraging climate change, by our harmful activities, not only humans, but other organisms will be impacted as well. We can easily diminish the possibility of this virus increasing, by sustaining biodiversity. In this case, mosquitoes are developing this virus quicker due to the humid and dry climates, and increased amounts of rainfall. The mosquitoes are able to infect many bird species, and other susceptible mammals as well. As we know, humans are enhancing global warming effects by their activities. Firstly, we must reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, and lower carbon emissions. The harmful toxins that are released in the air, have majorly impacted the average global temperature. We should reduce our carbon footprint by travelling less on airplanes, cars, etc., and invest in fuel-efficient vehicles, and carpool. In summary, we need to maintain a stable global temperature, rather than increase it, and face consequences as a
