The police force has been engaging in public relation tactics where it uses a different media platform to showcase and promote its image. The police do this by manipulating its image with the intention of controlling the behavior of its audience. The tactics work well by ensuring the department legitimizes its authority. The growth of social media and its ability to reach a broad audience within a short period have seen police resort to using the platform to shore up their image (Bullock, 2016).
