It was a typical Saturday morning for me in junior high. I woke up early and warmed up for a Pop Warner football game. My teammates and I were all called around the coach and asked to take a knee and bow our heads to take a moment to pray for a safe, clean game and for victory. This scene seemed like a typical occurrence to me. I grew up in a tradition and conservative home and community, praying to God, both privately and publicly seemed like an ordinary and not particularly controversial occurrence to me.
