My primary challenge in the transition was getting used to the new culture. When I came to America, I couldn’t exactly speak in the right accent or talk with confidence with anyone. The different accent made it hard for me to make new friends and to communicate with anyone that surrounded me. I was always teased for the awkward accent, but I proudly kept my head up and ignored the taunts and comments because I never wanted to give up. As time went by, my speaking and writing abilities improved. In fact, I would say the rude has only made me better at what I am today

In India, we celebrated Holi, which is the festival of colors, Uttrayan, which is the festival of kite flying and many more festivals that are connected to the traditions of India. However, I never learned about the major holidays of America so I was very confused when everyone was celebrating Thanksgiving or Halloween. Although I learned and started celebrating the holidays with everyone, it was a great challenge to adapt to all the new holidays and its celebrations.
