Frederick Douglass was born sometime around 1818 in Washington D.C. Frederick was a child of slavery in Maryland, Baltimore NY. Frederick, a former slave, also a Civil Rights Activists, was the leader of the human rights abolition movement, and the first black person to have a high U.S. government rank. Frederick turned out to be a one of the most famous writers, his motivation came from his own past experiences of how he felt about slavery, and how he wanted the world to change and how he wanted to abolish slavery.
