Many students don’t get their required sleep hours because of how early in the morning their school starts. However, an easy solution to this critical problem is to start school later in the morning. Due to how early students start their day, they can suffer from chronic sleep deprivation, a problem that teenagers should not have so early in life. Their lack of sleep can cause poor performance on academics which are extremely important during school careers. Finally, since school hours are terribly early, the hours of sleep teens acquire can be detrimental to their health and cause depression. Students shouldn’t have to deal with such problems, but those can be eradicated if school boards took later starting times into consideration.
