My strengths as an achiever and in responsibility, and my introversion, are all aspects of my personality that are beneficial in the profession of an Art Director. My strength as an achiever means that, no matter the task, I will work hard and devote myself to its completion to the absolute best of my ability (). I spend much time thinking and trying to come up with new, innovative ways to do things, and I work well independently (). My responsibility ensures that I work very carefully, with a fine attention to detail (). I do my best to always be prepared and I take responsibility for everything I do (). Portraying images is a basic skill of an artist that could be applied to many projects. Generating ideas is vital for an Art Director as he or she is in charge of developing, determining, and achieving the overall concept for a projected. Being innovative is important because a design must stand out in order to be highly effective—it must get across a message and make it memorable. Finally, designing is an important skill as it is at the heart of an Art Director’s profession. It is an Art Director’s responsibility to create an appealing and successful design.
A skill I do not enjoy using that is necessary to working as an Art Director is making decisions. While I am perfectly capable of making decisions, I dislike the process. I tend to take a fair bit of time to make decisions as I prefer to mull over the options for some time in order to make the most informed, best decision. I want to make the best choice because I am responsible for the consequences. I find the entire process stressful and
