Americans today tend to believe that the world can be a dystopian place. Andre Sleapeta acknowledges that “Yet once in a blue moon, certain pariah governments pursue their own course of censorship, false imprisonments, forced labor, and outright murder.” Basically, he is saying that governments treating people poorly is wrong. Which is only one of many reasons why America is a dystopian place.

In The Truman show, everything was fake and controlled. It was a utopia for Truman, though. Since there was that fatal flaw, that everything was fake and stuff, that made it a dystopia. He had no privacy, no family, and no love. His whole life was fake. The sad thing was, was that he didn’t even know he was being watched until he was like 30.
