I remember when we had so much fog that school got delayed. When I got to school everyone looked a lot more alive and I felt really good about myself. This is why school should start later. In the state of Kentucky, the school day should begin later so students can get better grades, a decline in motor vehicle crashes, and a decrease in tardiness.
Starting school later will give them better grades. According to the APA “More than half of teens aged 15-17 sleep for seven or fewer hours”. It also states that an increase in sleep can lead to better memory and learning. The things that you teach them will remember better and they will not forget what you taught them in two days. When it says that teens aged 15-18 sleep for seven or fewer hours, that means that their brains can't work at their full potential. My brain can't work at its full potential if I'm tired. This evidence proves my point that if school starts later than teens, children will get more sleep and they will be able to focus more and think a lot better. The average time school starts in Kentucky is 7:50 - 8:00 and ends at an average of 2:30 - 3:30 PM.
