William Shakespeare is believed to be brought into this world by his mother, Mary Arden, on or near April 23, 1564 (Bio, par. 3). William was born in Stratford-upon-Avon to his father, John Shakespeare, and mother, along with his two older sisters and his later three younger brothers (Bio, par. 4). He was more than likely educated in Stratford, where his father was a public official, where he would have learned the educational criteria established by Queen Elisabeth (EGS, par. 5).
At age eighteen, William Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway, who was eight years older than William, and also pregnant with their first child Susanna (EGS, par. 6). After his lost years, William went on to write thirty-seven plays by 1597, fifteen of which were published (Bio, par. 11.) He then build his own theater with a partner, calling it the Globe, which after being burned and broken down, a replica is now standing in its place (Bio, par. 12). Later, being appointed as one of the King’s Men, Shakespeare began to write some of his most successful plays about the power of the court which brought him much success (Shakespeare in American Communities, par. 5).
Throughout his life, William’s writing style changed. In his beginning year, his plays were full of comedy and history to entertain the audience with funny wordplay and witty plots (Bio, par. 14-15). In his later years, his works became much darker and tragic, often ending in the ruining of the protagonist and all he loves. (Bio, par.
