School shootings: The worst kind of mass shooting According to a Stanford publication, “Over the last two decades, the number of shootings at U.S. schools has doubled” (Rossin-Slater). School shootings are the worst kind of mass shooting, and they are becoming increasingly relevant. They are the worst mass shootings due to their vast effect on the entire community, children's body systems, and people’s relationship skills. Because they are such traumatic experiences, and they happen in a place that holds many young people, lives are permanently altered by the event of a school shooting. It is also important to take a look at possible solutions. As much as school shootings affect the individuals involved, it also affects the whole community affected by the shooting.
