The Daughter’s Tale
The Prologue
Momma always warned me of “the big
city”
Because I’m so young and pretty,
But the people seemed so nice
One gentleman to be precise,
He goes by the name “Leon”
His stories seemed to last for an eon,
But his eyes so sweet, his smile so
inviting,
How was I to know that his so called
“sighting”
Of the lord was just a ploy
To rob me of my joy
And all my hard earned cash.
So listen here before you too make the
splash,
Something I wish I’d known before I
began my quest
Listen to your Mother, for she knows
best.
The Tale
The cheery month in May where I set off
Finally freedom from my parents, my
takeoff
I met a kind farmer and his wife,
Who wished me good luck in all my
endeavors in life.
I met a priest, a friar,
A knight in full armor,
A friendly baker and his brother,
The town joker, and a man who sings
like no other.
But the most deceiving man I’ve ever
met,
His brown eyes glistened, His hair
brunette,
The mysterious man was maybe sixteen,
The hat he wore was forest green.
He approached me while praying in the
church,
Complimented my dress, and said “with
all my years of search
Have I seen such a lovely young lady
Oh how i'ld love to wake up to you daily"
He mesmerized me with his charm
speak
He called me beautiful, even unique.
He used his majestic voice to lure me in
Little did I know all he wanted from me
was sin,
He told me when he was a young man
His little brother fell into the river off his
catamaran
He saved him with all his might
And soon
