Alexander Hamilton's legacy is deeply embedded in both American history and the realms of politics and finance. Despite being born from a poor and humble beginnings in the Caribbean, Alexander Hamilton rose to become one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. His legacy is vast but is most well known through his contributions to the Americas Constitution, his economic policies and his empowering strategies throughout the American Revolutionary War. Firstly, Hamilton's legacy is perhaps most prominently seen in his contributions to the Constitution and the formation of the United States government. Alexander was the primary author of the Federalist Papers, along with James Madison and John Jay. The Federalist Papers were made up of 85 essays, all with the goal of ratifying America's Constitution. Hamilton played a pivotal role in the approval of the Constitution as he managed to write 51 essays in the span of six months, leaving only 34 essays to be split amongst Madison and Jay. His writings in the Federalist Papers, articulated the necessity of a strong federal union and addressed concerns about individual rights, the general welfare but mostly justice. Secondly, Hamilton's economic vision and policies have left a permanent mark on the United States. As the first Secretary of the Treasury under President George Washington, Hamilton devised a financial plan to stabilize the nation's economy and establish its dependability. His initiatives included the creation of a national bank, the assumption of state debts, and the implementation of tariffs and taxes to generate revenue.
