The transition from print to web-based media is making Americans more informed about current events than they were before widespread internet access. Americans have easier access to current events through the internet. People often communicate through the internet so this makes it easier for them to have access to web-based news outlets. This transition is more practical for the busy life style most Americans have, especially young Americans.
People now have access to news and information about current event anytime they want with just a few clicks on the internet. Often some people only read about the current events that interest them. Also some news stories found on the internet are false and some people will believe anything they read. Because of Americans’ fast pace lives, easier access to current events through internet is more practical for our society today. Most Americans are very busy and do not have much downtime to sit and read an entire newspaper. It is more practical for them to read stories about current events that interest them or that are important to people health and safety. People will find news articles with catchy headlines that grab the reader’s attention. This encourages the reader to click on the link and read that news story. Many news companies will post their news stories on Facebook. This is an effective way for web media to get viewers to view their stories. Web-based media makes a profit by sponsored advertisements from other companies. Companies know that people are now going online to find out what is going on in the world around them. Companies take advantage of this and try to get their advertisements on the media platforms. The web-based media makes its money through these advertisements. This also benefits companies because a viewer will see the advertisement and click on and will then be brought straight to their website. In printed newspapers, readers will actually have to type in the website and find it on their own.
