Many animals today help us in some form or way. Just think about it. We have dogs, who guide the blind and can sniff out illegal drugs. Dogs can also detect if someone’s heartbeat is irregular, and some can even detect cancer.

Why does animal cruelty exist? There should be a much higher punishment for the most basic levels of animal cruelty. However, our government has done a good job at punishing offenders, although they could be harsher. Currently, in Queensland, the punishment for one person is 7 years in Jail and $235,600 fine. For a corporation the fine goes up to $1,178,000. Its toadally logical that people still commit this crime. Australia, we need to get our A.C.T together, and work together to fight this crime, because it is not going to stop itself.
My third point of my argument is this. Did you know that animal cruelty is closely linked with domestic violence? If we can stop animal cruelty, we can stop domestic violence. We can do two things in one go. Did you know that 56 billion animals are killed each year… and that doesn’t include fish, whose deaths are so huge they are measured in tons?
Other types of animal cruelty include cosmetics testing, which is where we test beauty cosmetics on animals, that sometimes results in horrific pain for the animal.
