This article is about the death of many colonist and how the people in authority respond to it. The authors express condolences for the deaths. The authors also imply that the colonist must have done something to displease God thus resulting in their death. They then give explicit instructions on how to build a hospital to care for the ill. They also write pompously about sending supplies in order to take care of the colonists. They admonish them to be good Christians. He displays a snobbish attitude towards the colonists. There are several reason he may feel like this. He could be a member of the upper-class and be dealing with the working class. He could be very rich and is dealing with someone poorer then him. Most likely, it is that he is upper-class and views the colonists as below him.
