In recent years, issues related to animal testing has been a commonly debated subject and frequently discussed, particularly in the media. It is often said that animal testing should be banned because it is cruel. On the contrary, the opponents said that the animal testing has contributed to human world. Therefore, animal testing is a deeply divided subject with a great deal of opinion on both sides.

For more than a hundred years, the direct result of animal testing is a virtually medical breakthrough in human health. Medical research has improved and saved the lives of millions of people through animal testing. The animal testing has contributed to many of the medical advances. Human has probably all benefited from antibiotics and vaccines to prevent and treat infections and anesthetics used in all forms of surgery. The use of animals in research is important and necessary to the development of new and more effective methods for testing and diagnosing diseases that influence human health. Animals are used to understand more about human health problems and to assure the safety of new medical treatments. After examining several points, it has revealed that animal testing should not be banned as it helps in the progress of medicine and health, human life is more valuable than animal life, and helps to learn the outcome of a substance on a living organism. Nonetheless, animal research should be carried out as its advantages are more significant than the disadvantages. In case of the unavoidable situation, the animal testing is necessary. For example, testing medicines for potential toxicity, the lives of human volunteers should not be put in danger unnecessarily. However, the using of animal testing should be minimized, to reduce the percentage of animals dying in the study. To conclude, the animal testing should not be banned.
