A Neurosurgeon is someone who specializes in surgical treatment of the brain, spinal cord and other parts of the nervous system. For Neurosurgeons working 50 and 60 hour weeks is quite normal with 80+ not being usually. They are almost always on call and vacation usually don’t exceed 4 weeks. Many of the hours spent at work is spent in the operating room in order to earn their high salary.
Many skills are required to be a neurosurgeon for example excellent vision, good hand eye coordination, ability to lead a team and manage a team, and emotional strength to overcome the lost of patients who didn’t make it. Many colleges are available to earn the degree, For me I’m hoping to attend harvard university then move to Harvard medical school or John Hopkins. After medical school I’m hoping to resident at John Hopkins Hospital. For a neurosurgeon at the entry position they would have the gain experience by working many years which then they would gain raises and higher positions at their Hospital or place of work. To Attend harvard it cost 68,000 a year with all expenses included and for medical school it would around 55,000 a year for tuition. The current projected outlook for the next 10 years is 13%. The increase in neurosurgeons is due to the demand of the population. As the population of the world increases more skilled surgeons and others professionals are needed to help take care of people who are in need of such treatments. There is guaranteed to be a need for neurosurgeons in the future.
Positives for being a neurosurgeon is saving lives. There are many other positives in being neurosurgeon like the high pay and being respected by others. There are many negatives in being a neurosurgeon aswell like dealing with death. The long work hours is also a negative and having to deal with the tension in the operation room. There are many positives and negatives in being a neurosurgeon but the most important part is that you enjoying the job and saving people.
My dream career is to be a meme lord. During my years in high school I’ll be taking Graphics design and some other photo editing class, I’ll join the meme club and if there isn’t one I’ll create one and I’ll be joining the organization known as /r/memes on reddit to study new memes everyday.
