A period of uncertainty and fear flooded the world, impacting our lives overnight, it seemed. While the pandemic had changed people's physical and mental health, social interactions, and educational instruction, it did not impact my decision to become a Physician Assistant (PA). I had not decided to become a PA until May 2022. It did, however, impact the interactions I had with classmates and professors. I found myself struggling with the first meeting of my chemistry lab, which continued to be held in-person. I decided that I needed to start reaching out to my classmates and asking for help when I needed it.
