There is nothing we can do in our own power to be free of it. The Apostle Paul tells us, "There is no one righteous, not even one” (Romans 3:10 NIV). The only person who never sinned was Jesus Christ. Even King David, the man after God’s heart (Acts 13:22), killed a man and committed adultery and Moses got drunk, and Abraham lied. The point is that even the Godly men of the Bible still need a savior. We will all die and have to give an account of our lives. It will not matter if you went to church or gave all your money to the poor. The only thing that will save you from eternity in hell is whether you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 NIV).
